AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I hate how the call centre agents call the processing times an average; it's not. I had an agent even tell me that it means half of applicants are processed before the processing time, half are after (i.e. a median). While it's true that it can't be relied on, the CIC states on their own website...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I did check to withdraw the application if I was denied SA, so I guess I'm definitely approved, thank you! I guess I'll try to request another letter through the mail, or at least once they get my email all sorted out.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thanks! I really hope it means SA. On a different note, some call centre agents are so rude and useless. I called today, a week since my last call, about my delayed SA, lack of any correspondence, and the supposed typo in my email address (which I proved wasn't even our fault). The agent said...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hey everyone, It seems that I finally got SA after nearly 46 days. While I didn't receive an email nor has ECAS updated, but my wife's MyCIC account's review of eligibility field changed from "Not Started" to "Review in Progress." It seems that others have indicated that this implies SA and...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thanks. We're really hoping for good news today or tomorrow. I checked with my copies of the forms and I had the address correct. I got several friends and family to go over the forms independently before I sent to look for mistakes that my wife and I could've missed. I'm really not sure how...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Congratulations to everyone who got AOR1 and SA recently. I finally called the call centre the other day, since the CIC received my application on August 5th and still no SA, and I got an agent that was really helpful. First, she found there was a typo in my email address, so I sent a enquiry...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

fiona_baby, Shmak2017, lalicatter: Thanks for the advice. I'm kicking myself for not calling them today, since I'll have to wait till Monday, but I thought the call centre was only for inland or applicants that went past the estimated time AND couldn't access ECAS. Hope everyone else has...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hate to sound impatient, but I wonder what's holding up my sponsor approval. It's currently 34 days after they received our application, and while the estimate for sponsor assessment was 36 days (I think) when I submitted the application, it appears to be only 29 days now. Others, however, seem...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi Shmak, It is possible to link the account on GCKey before AOR1. I used the "Family Name, Given Name and Date of Birth" combination, as well. Make sure the information is formatted exactly like on IMM 0008 and the number of family members doesn't include the sponsor. However, I didn't...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi Fatima, Thank you! We got our AOR1 by email, but it was sent within 4 minutes apart of an email saying our GC account updated, which was the medical. It appears that GC account only shows stuff pertaining the principal applicant, while ECAS shows both (but it's much more limited).

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hello everyone, I'm sponsoring my wife from China. Our application was received on August 5th, and we successfully linked our application (via GCKey) on August 24th. Medicals received and AOR1 on August 26th. We could access ECAS a day later, which stated that sponsorship processing had started...
