The patience flames are still burning... today marks 7 months, 6 days since the High Commission processed and sent my application to Canada. Hoping they send me some form of correspondence on the 8th or 9 month.

Hang in there! Hoping things will pick up once the restrictions are eased and things settle. I am about to hit the 7 month mark in a few days' time (also no AOR).

When did you get this notification (I assume through eCAS or Email)... was it on the same day (14 Jan 2020)

A whole year has passed since their last update. Had you tried contacting the IRCC for the letter they sent you, or the Canadian diplomatic mission you sent your application through? Which country are you applying from (in Canada/ outside Canada)?

The reply I got... what I found interesting is the "application not being available until processing begins"; does this mean you only get your AOR, or correspondence once your application is being processed (when ecas says "... we have begun processing your application"?)

I have a feeling they are prioritizing urgent applications and the staff responsibile for filing and processing these applications is severely limited (around 1 - 5 people or so)

When did you send your application? Where did you send it from (within Canada, outside Canada and the US [embassy, consulate, etc?])?

It will be 6 months and no AOR on the 7th May 2020 :( :( Automated responses from IRCC really aren't helpful. The High Commission mentioned they can only check for tracking info related to the application once the lock down has been lifted.

Your timeline looks really good. Are you applying within Canada or outside Canada? If outside, which Embassy / High Commission did you use?

With the COVID-19 pandemic, I expect them to be slower, assuming only essential staff will be working in the office (the rest would work from a remote location of their choice). Still waiting for an AOR :( its been a few days over the 4 month mark.
