It was the same for us... it's been more than 3 months now and no news at all. I have contacted my MP so not sure if things will move faster. You just need a bit more patience and try to contact your MP in a month or two.

I don't know why but I hope getting my MP involved will help. He is sending an email to ND today to try to get things moving. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Actually, I have read in the Delhi thread that it is illegal to mail your passport outside of India. I wasn't aware that India as such a law. So they would only mail it back into India. They might give you some indications as to what to do in your case. Or maybe you should contact them directly...

They don't consider your income when you sponsor your spouse as they assume that you will both work to earn income.

We haven't heard anything since Feb when we sent the passport. Just keep saying "Application Received" on ECAS not even "In Process"! Getting tired of waiting for something to happen...

They always mail your passport back to you. So you should receive it in the US. The only thing is you might be called for an interview back in India and then you would need to fly there. Good luck.

If you have a file number already for your PR application you might have a chance... and some ties in your home country. But otherwise it won't work... I know my husband tried twice in december to come and see me as I was having our first baby but he only got denied! Good luck!
