Seems like even though the biometric is exempted for now, IRCC still only processes those applications with biometrics. Have seen so many applications get approved in few weeks but none of them is applied without biometric.

Did your friend give biometric before?

I'm in similar situation. Usually for Msc thesis-option, we only need to take 5 course, and almost everyone in our school take less than 3 courses some semesters. But I've registered for a thesis course all the time which should be the proof that I maintained a full time status.

Applied on May 5th within Canada. Didn't have the chance to give biometrics. No update yet. Let's see how the new policy reflect in the online system.

thx. I'm just worried that they make a decision before they can see my web form(where I attached the correct passport). If they're letting me uploading the correct doc in the system, that'll be fine, I'm just concerned if they rejected me directly.

Finally something changed! Submitted on June 8th, reviewing eligibility started today... Not sure when will receive final decision. Hope no more delay!

Congrats guys. On the other hand, I'm really disappointed and upset about the IRCC right now. Why aren't they processing applications in chronological order? Clearly my application hasn't even been touched yet, mine is just a COOP work permit! It's just one-minute thing once they start looking...

That's actually good news dude. Once they start reviewing, you should receive final decision soon.
