my passport was delivered to the PO box today... Hopefully they will process soon and the returning process goes smoothly... The losing passport thread made me super paranoid. Now I am doubting everything including the spelling of the address etc..... :(

My status just changed to DM today And I also phoned CIC to ask. They said it is still in process but the officer made a "positive recommendation" and i will be officially informed when they are ready. They also mentioned there is currently a delay in PNP so this notification could be anywhere...

Yeah I asked my parents in China to do it. They went to the local police station to get the clearance and did a translation with a notarization agency (they also do translation work). I sent both the original and translated documents. Both letters are sent via email.
