Uh oh. Just got an email from the CIC saying that they need an FBI clearance certificate for my 19 years old kid. They say I have to have it back to them by 01 JUN 2014. I went to the FBI website and it says that the processing time is currently 22 calendar days. We better get moving on this.

Toby, you and I have the same 'application received' date (Sept. 12th). Should I expect an update in my ecas right away too, or won't that happen till after they get my MR results (my doctor's appointment is on Wednesday)?

It takes about 2 hours to cross the border by car from where I am, so I guess it'll be a day trip. Probably do some shopping in Buffalo as long as I'm there. Do you know how long the processing at the border takes? Do I need to call in advance?

My understanding is that after we get the coPR we do not have to do anything else and that the PR card will be mailed to us in 4 to 6 weeks. Is that correct?

What about a child away at University during the process

I'm immigrating with my 3 kids, but I have no spouse. While 2 of my kids live with me here in Canada, my oldest has now gone back to the US to go to college. My application was returned months ago because I was told not to include the payment for my child in the US until he returns to live in...

He's still in his 1st year of a 4 year program. I don't imagine they'll have him do his medical now since they time out after a year. That'll save me almost $300 USD if I don't have to do his medical now. I'm trying to understand how they will let him be a PR if he's outside of Canada, hasn't...
