    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

Because only some 500 odd people are likely to join the pool with points greater than 470 if the gap is only one week. With some 3,500 already in the pool from 470-478, and this extra 500, it’s likely that the score will drop to 471 or 472 if we see a draw in the coming week. If it’s the usual...

I’ve been trying to look at the numbers to analyze a bit, but it’s not easy thanks to the phased opening around the world for testing etc. I’d guess anywhere between 473 and 476 for the next draw. Probably a good chance for 472 in the draw after that.

Ray of Hope - 155th Draw

Guys, can someone help me regarding employer’s letter? I got one in September 2019 from my manager which shows my work experience of over 8 years in the company and in the same NOC. So theoretically it should be enough for the application. Is there any reason I should get an updated one if I...

Did you get them to write the date behind the photos? I think that's mentioned in the official rules, and going by the date it should be within 6 months. If date isn't written, you know what to do. (Unless lockdown has changed your looks dramatically).

Sorry, ignore the bit about medicals.. it has been so many months since I collected my documents that I completely forgot the rule. It's 12 months before landing time I think (or one of the last stages).. so depending on how long the processing from ITA would take, you might need to do it again...

Congrats on your ITA! Your posts have been some of the best ones to read here during the last few months. Regarding PCC, yes you should apply right away. I have a PCC from September 2019 in SA. I'm going to apply right away for a new one, considering the score might drop to 474 in 1-2 draws. It...

Thanks! CLB 7 is when you get 30 points. B2 range starts from CLB 6 and ends at CLB 7. I'm right in the middle of CLBs 6 and 7 in speaking.

Here you go. I've tried to make a timeline of the whole thing: October 2019 - I entered the pool finally after getting my WES ECA, which had taken ages, at a CRS of 463. (I have a masters', max IELTs, my wife has two degrees, max IELTS, but unfortunately we are both in our mid-thirties). When...

My French results have arrived just today morning and I'm now at 474. Really hoping for a miraculous FSW draw today now.

Here's to an FSW draw tomorrow! It's a bit of a stretch when so many VACs are still closed (including the all important India one), but there's an outside chance I suppose. If the count starts from the mid-470s tomorrow, I would realistically hope for it to drop to my level (466) by September...

This has been my most often visited page over the last three months I think :) Lot of positive updates in the past week or so. Even in badly affected places like India, certain centers are reopening. Cant Fall admission students apply online for visa?

There are plenty of 1-year Master's programs in Canada (such as 12-month MBAs), which result in only a 1-year PGWP. These graduates take an average of 1-3 months to find a job even in the best of times. So most of the 1-year PGWP holders wouldn't qualify for CEC when their PGWP is about to...

Certainly. An FSW draw is pointless without VACs being open for majority of the ITA recipients. They would simply spend months being unable to move beyond an ITA and IRCC would have average processing times for Express Entry shoot up, which wouldn't look good for their flagship program. So the...

Not all would. Some would not have the one year Canadian work experience needed to be in CEC.

July 9th might be a tad optimistic, but I do think FSW draws will resume by August at least. The biggest obstacle to holding draws - VACs being closed - is slowly being removed. If you follow the VFS Global updates over the last two weeks, you can see the number of centres being opened up...

Indeed. South Africa has responded marvelously all the way from the beginning of the pandemic. I'm an Indian citizen just finishing up an expat assignment here. I was scheduled to return to India in April, but chose to ride out the pandemic here for obvious reasons. Cases are rising a bit in...

Yeah I'm not holding my breath for January. If it happens in January, amazing. Otherwise we just wait until they call us. Worst case May I presume.
