I am just going to post my timeline: Applied: October 4th Passport Request: October 20th Passport received at CPP Ottawa: October 23rd Status changed to approved: November 8th No tracker activation yet, November 15th.

They emailed me this morning after I had emailed them last night and they replied with an email saying my "passport will be returned shortly". They said the exact same thing in an email 2 weeks ago. They also said they have large volume of approved applications and that there will be a delay.

it was delivered the 23rd of October. I applied the 4th of October and got my passport request the 20th of October.

I feel like once they scan the xpresspost into their system, it activates the tracker by itself. I will call tomorrow and see what they say.

I live in Montreal. The tracker is still not activated. I really do not know why it is taking so long. It took long enough to get the approval, now its taking long to for them to dispatch my passport. Thankfully it takes only one business day for the xpresspost between montreal and ottawa so...

Yes I know. Its frustrating. I will call them tomorrow if my tracker is not activated by noon.

Took me about 14 business days to get my approval after I sent my passport. It has been almost a week since I got my approval and still no tracker activated it so they have not mailed my passport yet.

Application approved on the 8th of November and yet, my tracker hasn't been activated. Any idea how long it usually takes between changing from approved to tracker being activated?

It says that but they usually respond within few days. The responded the next business day for me even though I got the same automatic email saying response time is 20 days

Did you write urgent on your envelope or email them to fast track it? you got it extremely fast.

For those who are confused about the xpresspost tracking number, if you put a prepaid xpresspost envelope with your address on it, in the big xpresspost envelope you used to send the passport to CPP ottawa, you will have the tracking number on the receipt you got from Canada post when you paid...

The application status changes from "Submitted" to "Approved" and when you click on the application, it shows you the document (visa) information, like the number of the visa and the date it expires and so on. Mine changed to that last night. Hopefully they ship it soon in the xpresspost I...

I am not sure. This is what it said 'Your passport has been received at our office and will be returned to you shortly.' The tracker on my return xpresspost has not been activated so Im guessing they will send it soon. I live in Montreal and xpresspost between Ottawa and Montreal is one business...

It was online application. I had the same but I received the Letter of Introduction via email few days later. It was 3 years ago so I dont remember the exact time it took but they eventually send it to you. But again, this was 3 years ago and their system is probably different now
