Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I've found this process to be pretty stressful, but ultimately quicker than I thought. I've also received a timely reply to each of the 2 emails I've sent to London. It is a touch disheartening to see people go In Process after you, and have a DM made whilst you are still waiting, but each...

I'm trying not to fall into the 'Checking ECAS on the hour every hour' trap but it's hard now I'm in process! Has anyone who has a decision made ever noticed that a change in status has occurred during the day? i.e in the morning you're still in process, but in the afternoon you had a decision...

Quite a few factors judging by the circumstances of those people experiencing delays: 1. Your nationality, and those with dual nationality. 2. Having travelled extensively, lived out of your home country, and spending 6 months or more in a country not of your nationality. 3. Criminal records...

*censored word* A BRICK!!! I'm 'In Process' since Aug 13th!!! I've been checking every day since before then but just logged in after a few days camping and there it is. I have seen how long it has taken some people once processing has started, but still...this is awesome news. :) The timing...

From what I can tell, it seems if you have lived together in a relationship for 2 years or more before getting married, your PR should be unconditional. It mentions about dating for 4 years but, and this is classic CIC ambiguity and lack of clarity, that could either mean living together or...

Conditional PR was brought in from Oct 2012 to prevent abuse of the system. This means you must remain in your relationship (marriage or common law) for 2 years after you 'land' in order you to retain PR. It applies if you have been common law or married for 2 years or less and do not have any...

Happy days! Interesting that you got a DM on a Sunday. Makes you wonder if they were clearing out the ones very close to completion before the full strike started today...

This is a hunch, but it's quite possible that the person/persons responsible for sending out the COPR's will not be a senior member of staff or a PAFSO member. Also, manager's at the London HC are not striking so will be doing some of the work too. Therefore those who got DM's this week might...

Same! As a rough anecdotal conclusion from the spreadsheet, it seems common law applications take a bit longer which is understandable given they need to make sure our relationships are kosher. Of course there are some exceptions to timescales but by and large, it seems to be so.

A ray of light at last! Albeit a ray of light subject to certain conditions ;) We should be thankful that decisions are still being made and work done in London. It's a full stop in several overseas missions.

Dare I say it, but things could be worse given the current circumstances. My understanding is that VO's are still working in London, at least in a work to rule capacity. As you can read from this article, some of the embassies have stopped working entirely. London might well join in and ramp up...
