no. i applied for bowp when my current wp will expire in 6 months! The law is u can get bowp when ur current wp about to expire or max 4 months to expire!

Actually my wp will expire in 6 months and they still give it to me! u only need to submit a letter show that ur pr application in process or passed the first stage.

Remember if u apply it in canada u will some advantage which is when ur PR application in process and ur wp 4 month to expire, you would be able to apply for owp wich called bridging owp and it is valid for one year and i think it is extendable.

I think i applied Nov 01 or oct 30. I got the approval letter on nov 19. Should i contact the cic and inform them that i have restriction on my owp?

I just attached a letter says that my PR application is in process. I applied under FSW. It is very weird!!

Usually to apply for BOWP your WP has to expire within 4 months! but if your work permit will expire in more than 4 months and you have positive result on ur PR, then go ahead and give it a shot, u might get it! i JUST apply for it beginning this month and my wp will expire after 7 months, and...
