DM waiting on Passport Request- Ottawa/Miss VO

Just wanting to check in. Are there still quite a few people who have DM and are waiting for their Passport request from the Ottawa/Miss VO? There were a backlog of Sept. 1st DMs who hadn't got their request yet and I'm wondering if there has been any movement now. We got DM end of Sept and...

Anyone in the midst of spousal sponsorship travel to Canada on an ETA and have their 6 months cut...

It's when you're landing with two intents. One as a visitor and one with the intent to get PR. You don't apply for it. You declare it. I don't have the link but search it on the CIC website and it'll detail it for you.

Anyone in the midst of spousal sponsorship travel to Canada on an ETA and have their 6 months cut...

My husband and I are in the midst of Outland and he came under dual-intent. Showed our SA and AOR2 documents when he arrived and he was granted his 6 months and told to reenter if it didn't complete in the 6 months.

I was hoping you had. We just got DM and there are so many people before us still waiting for their request. This process is just stealing my soul little by little.

Yea, I'm under the impression this wasn't a regular thing, they're just dumping things off on Miss and not realizing this is already a file somewhere else.

Here is where I am at. What are all your thoughts? Visa Office and AOR2: April 12th. Ottawa. Background check in progress: August 9th. Request for additional documents (a driving history for a state my husband has never resided in and completely unnecessary): September 8th Documents submitted on...

A former insurance salesmen turned MP for the conservative party (our republicans) who is now the for leader of the conservative party aka planning to run for Prime Minister in the next elections. He's also a social conservative more than a fiscal conservative so I quickly got the impression...

Hasn't been my experience at all. Just crickets. Everyone in my community just keeps telling me to go talk to Ralph Goodale. Which I think I'll do in the next month if I think I really need to. He is the Minister of boarder control after all. So maybe better directed there anyway.

JANUARY 2017 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

It usually depends on your visa office and inland vs outland and even right now, some visa offices have been delayed longer than normal. So you can't really say. All we know, it'll be no longer than 12 months.

Misleading processing times in the CIC website

Canada is getting a lot more study permits because of the political climate in the US. People are more keen now to come and study in Canada than they are in the US. Which I suppose for many students from differing countries, you can't blame them.

February 2017 * OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLIC*

When did you sunk it your application? Usually MPs aren't too concerned about it until it's well past the average wait time. This is my understanding but someone could correct me on this. Currently both inland and outland are saying it could take 12 months. But I also would suspect that...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

No way, Really? Isn't that frustrating? Everyone says after your check goes into progress it switches a day or two later. I think I'm going to be in the same boat as you. Got in progress on August 9th after them starting the process April 22nd. How did the Ottawa VO become slower than VOs like...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

We were transferred to Ottawa VO April 12th. Then ECAS updated on April 22nd with the third line. MyCIC account said as of Aug 9th that my background check was in progress. No news since then. Is it common for the Ottawa VO to update the background check on mycic and then not get an update to DM...
