    VIENNA OFFICE

Hello! Do any of you know of anyone who applied outland through the Vienna office as an Austrian citizen? I see a pattern emerging where German citizens are often processed more quickly than others even though it is all going through the same office. Is that just luck? I wonder if my husband (an...

Is anyone else an Austrian citizen going through the Vienna office?

I clicked through a ton of pages of the Vienna thread and couldn't find anyone who made it clear that they were actually from Austria. I have noticed that the German applications tend to be processed more quickly than those coming from Bosnia, etc. I'm thinking they probably have two separate...

Inland Application - Can he travel while waiting for the application to process?

Thank you all so much for your replies! I do have one more question though - since his automatic visitor visa is for 6 months, does that mean we will have to renew it after sending the application in? I have been reading about implied status but I'm unclear about what that means exactly. He is...

Inland Application - Can he travel while waiting for the application to process?

No, unfortunately not :( Austria doesn't have a working holiday agreement with Canada, and he can't get a work visa otherwise because he isn't what CIC would consider a "skilled worker". I feel like they should offer open work permits to outland applicants as well. It doesn't seem fair to have...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, I made a thread but nobody has responded. My husband and I are just about to send in our application, but these new changes have us questioning whether it is better to apply from inland or outland. We want him here in Canada and working as soon as possible. The...

Inland Application - Can he travel while waiting for the application to process?

My husband (Austrian) and I (Canadian) are just finishing our application and trying to decide if we should go inland or outland. I'm currently living in Canada and he is living in Austria. With the new changes to the inland applications (open work permit after 4 months) that option is looking...

Please Help! (new applicant, questions regarding inland vs outland - urgent!!)

Thanks for the help! If this is really true it is such good news, I have been crying every day thinking of being apart from him for 2 more years, if we can close the gap sooner I will be overjoyed!!! 4 months is nothing compared to the 19 months we were anticipating with the outland application.

Please Help! (new applicant, questions regarding inland vs outland - urgent!!)

Does that mean that if we send our application in right away, he will have his open work permit processed within 4 months of us sending the application in/me being approved as a sponsor? Is it still the same process (2-3 months for sponsorship approval) for inland applications - meaning, would...

Please Help! (new applicant, questions regarding inland vs outland - urgent!!)

Sorry if I was not clear - we are applying for spousal sponsorship, just trying to figure out whether it is a better option for us to process it inland or outland. Inland seems to take longer for permanent residency but that's not a big deal if he can still live here and work here on an open...

Please Help! (new applicant, questions regarding inland vs outland - urgent!!)

My husband and I were married this past July. I'm a Canadian citizen and he is from Austria. We've been working on our application and finally have it just about ready to send (just waiting to receive my option C printout). The problem is, we can't figure out if it will be better for us to apply...
