To the best of my knowledge,i dont think there is any drug test to be carried out by CIC approved medical practitioners . It depends on how you want the medical test to be done.you either wait for the visa officer to request for your medical or you do it in advance and is called upfront...

I disagree with himal, vfs dont collect passport so far you tell them u will need to do let them know you want your passport and you will just sign a declaration form.
