My application was received on Jan 9, 2016. Background in process since May 18, 2017 and still shows background check in process as May 24, 2017. I don't know why someone gets decision made the next day after background check. But I am still waiting. :-( What happened to early January...

If you applied under PNP stream, even if you do not have a valid job offer, it will not affect your eligibility for the process. Don't worry about it.
