Sorry to hear about the emergency. You would need to get a Work Permit (actual permit and not approval letter) to be able to apply for TRV from back home. I think it's a good idea to have someone send the permit to you from Canada but this is only after you get the permit ofcourse.

No problem. I applied for BOWP on March 13th. Application approved Apr 26th.

BOWP case officer and CIO officer are different. When they put it on hold - it means they are waiting for R10 check to complete before they can approve your application. It doesn't necessarily mean you are getting PR soon (though I hope you do)

This is good news. That means they are just waiting for your R10 to complete before they can process your BOWP application.. If your Work Permit expires on 10th April you can carry on with your job on "implied status" .
