I don't think extra checks are involved. I am with visitor status (with just stamp on my passport with handwritten the last date i can stay in Canada). I only submit the application 2 weeks before my last exit date. (i didn't renew my status, as I should have implied status after submission). So...

Same here! Waiting for work permit to arrive in mail box! It is good to stay active...agree that the waiting game is NO FUN!!! Will have my medical check today! and hopefully everything goes well!

If you have linked the ecas it will be shown there. And, you will also get an email saying the status is changed. If you cannot link the account, i think u have to wait for the physical letter. Your agency should got the update if you are using one.

I checked the account this morning and know it is approved. But the email came only at around 5:30pm saying there is a profile update! Then there is a second email saying i have got a message in the account. There's a correspondence letter attahed in the message saying the physical work permit...

That's strange! Mine is valid only 1 year, till 2020 Jun! (May be it is because of my passport as well - my passport will be expiring in 2020) But that's alright - at least we may be able to get the new of PR application by then.

Checked just now....OWP is approved today, expiry 2020 Jun! :) I didn't receive any MR....isn't it a bit strange?!

You stayed in Canada less than 6 months? i got the feeling that those who stayed > 6 months has to do medical check. I am still waiting for the medical request....but no news after receiving AOR....

I use paper clips only! originally we thought not to use anything, but think if the whole pile drop on the file, how can they reorganize it piece by piece. So we use the safest way....paper clips..which is allowed as they said...

You are efficient! I hope to get the medical request too...How much does the medical cost? What did they do? The application process is really funny, seems they don't have a standard procedure. Like you and I have the exact timeline, but the process is slightly different...

Did you try using PA UCI and Family Name? I tried this today and got some luck on it... It is so confusing....all the UCI....i messed everything up! Hope I will get some news on medical request soon...
