Yeah, I am from Karachi, I did my GRE preparation myself, there are some wonderful GRE Books like Cracking GRE 2014 by Princeton Review. It took me around three weeks to prepare for the GRE.

What would I do after showing them the biometric letter and giving my fingerprints ? How would CIC know that I am done with my Biometric ? Will VAC update them ? if yes, then how much time will it take to update CIC ?

Yes, This is better to get your medical upfront. In fact, CIC encourages students for upfront medical, this saves student quite a time.
