    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Not wanting to sound political and all, but I don't believe it's as well as it used to be south of the border. My old state (Michigan) for example, has been economically depressed for years. But no, generally it's about the same as far as living conditions go. I hope fortunes will turn for the...

Passport cards might be good enough, and I certainly understand that the passport books are not cheap when there's more than one to get, as the cost adds up very quickly. I'd advise getting someone from CIC that can actually answer the question for sure. Or, talk to your designated medical...

You'll need a passport book, too. They can't stamp your entry in a passport card once you show the border proof of your immigrating, nor can they staple your COPR onto the card once you land. I also believe you'll need to photocopy the ID page on your passport book, and mail it with the...

Well, he's going to have to assert his rights and get those kids examined, even if that means getting a lawyer and having a court order or something. At least he won't have to take them out of the country to do it, though. Otherwise, he might end up getting stopped at the border, and that would...

One potential complication is that when it comes to children, you'll still have to have them declared and examined, whether they'll land with you in Canada, or not. First off, it will preserve your ability to sponsor them in the future. And secondly, you could find yourself in some serious...

That's good to hear as they don't always extend the medical results.

Right. I got you now. You'll certainly want to land, or 'activate' it before it expires as it cannot be extended. In my case, I had the option to land that lasted all the way to around mid-April as that was when my immigration medical results would have expired. But why was I going to wait that...

That's the maximum that I've heard from others here. As for activating it, I don't know what you mean. Once you get the COPR, you're ready to go and land. You'll just have to land before it expires.

Right, and without any more information, all we can do is speculate, and be baffled.

If the Buffalo visa office has by far the largest workload of immigration files, then this issue literally just begs me to ask: Why are they not sending out more of their workload to the other satellite visa offices? I've heard people on here talk about a 3-4 week turnaround between sending in...

While luck could be a factor, I believe our thoroughness and completeness of the applications we send may play a major role as well. Plus, it's always good to be proactive, and not just send it and forget it.

Right, but unless I'm missing something, schizophrenia can be treated with the proper medication and dosage, so that these episodes don't happen. I also hear that side effects can be pretty wicked, though. Also, sometimes people that are prescribed these medicines will think that they're okay...

You know, I was focused of reading the commentary on that topic so much, I didn't even think to look at her profile. Meanwhile, I don't want to appear discriminatory towards her over her mental state, but people don't get arrested for no reason, and I don't believe that if you have a mental...

i would imagine that he might not have realized at the time that one already had 'flown the cuckoo's nest' so to speak. I have to conclude however, that if I went through an experience like that at the border, that I would've likely lost a screw as well. One other thing I can conclude from...

They're also all over Southeastern Michigan, but the coffee and iced capps are not as good as they are on the Canadian side. I will also say that the service overall isn't as good, either. It kind of depends on where you go.
