Hello Profiler, What do you mean by adverse information from asylum seekers and refugee claims? Is that why my husbands background check is taking months! its been since June 27th! lol

so do you have a work permit at the moment? when does it expire? I know when you have a refugee claim pending, you are eligible for an open work permit. My husband had one, and once we received the AIP we dropped his claim. and they sent his passport to CIC.

I would suggest to drop the claim, unless you really feel like you wont get approved for spousal sponsorship... But you can still stay in Canada as you have an open work permit no?

@profiler My MP responded, she said that everything is complete and they are only working on the background check which is done internally. She said they don't need any additional documents. I'm wondering how much longer we will have to wait now. I know they asked for the schedule A end of June...

guys, How long does it usually take for an MP to get back to you, I sent ours an e-mail yesterday morning.

I I was told for mine to only update until the application date, nothing beyond. So my application was from December 2016, I wouldn't update information on January 2017? or did I do that wrong? I'm going by what the letter requested.
