A American non-nurses reviewing your nursing education to determine if it is comparable to Canadian nursing education... you do the math ;)

Get a new work visa in the USA and work there as a nurse. Otherwise your safe practice will expire and you'll have little chance of getting a license.

Alberta uses the same exam, IENCAP is what it is called in Ontario, AARNAP is what it is called in Alberta. Same company runs it (Touchstone Institute). If she has not completed IENCAP or signed up for it in Ontario, there is no loss to forget about Ontario and move onto applying to Alberta...

Yeah probably not worth it. Will take a year at least to get your license. The maternal child health course might be enough to satisfy them. But it will still take a while to go through with the process. NNAS is a total scam to keep 'others' out.

Quite disappointing that a nurse from Australia is non comparable yet nurses from countries that are very different in terms of the nursing practice and education are somewhat comparable and comparable. The assessment is conducted by non-nurses in the United States, so one can't have too much...

York has one as well. Wait lists are years long. Just be prepared that she may not be able to get in right away. Some have found that it is faster to just take the BScN all over again. Just consider all of your options.

They say that to place the blame on the applicant, so they can pretend their assessment is a valid one.

Yes. My American education was non-comparable. Now they finally accept American education but unfortunately NNAS is designed to pretty much deem most non-comparable. Was your degree a 4 year degree? With a maternal child health placement?

They don't care where you have nursing experience, they only care where you were educated.

I'd ask them to correct it (don't agree to pay for the correction). I wouldn't want anything incorrect moving forward to the licensing body.

Well things certainly have changed since all of us US educated nurses all got 'non-comparable', had to do OSCE and jump through hoops to prove ourselves. Certainly glad things have changed but wow! Clearly the NNAS assessment was crap when it was first rolled out, but they will never admit it!

That's great news! I'm surprised the fact that she hasn't practiced in 3 years is not a problem. It has been a problem for everyone else so far. But I'm glad she likely won't have to do OSCE.

I don't think she can bypass the OSCE because that identifies which areas, if any, she needs to improve on. When they identify which areas, then she will focus on those in her schooling. I'm not 100% sure though so it is always best to ask CNO (if you can get ahold of them which is near...

She is lucky she is applying now and not two years ago! Two years ago absolutely everyone got "non comparable" from NNAS, even those who were educated at a US university that was previously accepted by CNO up until NNAS started. It was pure hell for all. People fought for change and finally...

Where did your wife obtain her nursing education? Yes she will have problems not working as a nurse for 3 years. They will ask her to do OSCE. If she passes OSCE she will likely be okay and get licensed. If she doesn't, she will have to do additional education. OSCE is booked until the end...

That happens each and every time they open spaces for IENCAP. And then when the site comes back up, those who log in get any remaining spots. The people who were logged in immediately after it opened lose out. Its been like this since the beginning and is never fixed because Touchstone...

They use the same excuse every time . They don't 'suddenly' have more applications. They have never had enough staff to handle the volume of applications in the first place.
