PR don't get expire if you live outside of Canada for one year....Condition on PR is you have to live for at least 2 year in Canada in 5 years from the date you get your PR....PR person can go out of country but the number of days in 5 years from the date person get a PR should be 730.

As far as I know you will not get any documents back from VO....that's why they ask for Xerox not the original documents....

You don't need a US visa....you just need your passport and COPR....when u reach US border let them know you are here for landing...they will check ur passport and COPR and redirect you to canada...and then there you will get landing paper which they will attach with your passport...
