    Pipe dreams? (Immigrant stories)

Totally agree with everything you said. Luck does play a factor, as does a person's disposition to risk. Not to mention whether or not you have a family (i don't, which is why i like moving and living in different places). Kudos to having a job ready, which I reckon, is the right way to...

    Pipe dreams? (Immigrant stories)

Apologies if this isn't the correct part of the forum to post this, but here goes... Brief background: I am well qualified with accredited degrees from the US and Australia, with ~8 years of work experience in those countries. I decided to throw my hat into the expressentry pool in December...

Submit Application - First Landing (Time frames)

I have a general question regarding time frames of the process. 1. I've heard that it takes roughly 6 months from the date you submit your application to when you get a decision from CIC. Is this true? 2. If the decision is positive (ie the person gets permanent residency in Canada), within how...

    Declining invitation question(s)

I'm considering declining my ITA due to some personal circumstances, and withdrawing from ExpressEntry. I had a couple of questions: 1- Is it as simple as clicking on the yellow 'decline' button? or is there something else I need to do, to ensure I do not get picked in the next round of ITAs? 2-...

    Address History

Oh... does this rule apply to 'personal history' as well? or does that need to start at when a person turned 18? Cheers

    Address History

Do you mean in my case? So if i'm 35, only go back to when I was 25?

I think it's every place since you turned 18.

    Address History

While doing my undergraduate studies, I lived in the dorms at my alma mater. Every semester would be a different dorm/building, and I cannot find/remember the room number for one of them (from back in 2001). I contacted the university, and they told me they do not keep records of student's...

Indian Consulate PCC for OCI holders

Houston was the closest to me. They told me they cannot provide a PCC considering I haven't stayed in India for more than 180 days at a time as an adult. After pleading with them, and showing them the CIC cumulative requirements they agreed to give one up to the month I surrender my passport. I...

Indian Consulate PCC for OCI holders

That seems to be a different situation to the consulate(citizen vs non citizen). That's what they told me anyway. Initially they said its not possible for me to get a PCC because i haven't resided(180 or more at a time) in India as an adult. The US Dept of State Visa reciprocity website says...

Indian Consulate PCC for OCI holders

I'm in the same situation as the original poster(devse), however, i'm in the US. The local consulate issued me a PCC, but they mentioned 'from' and 'to' dates(the 'to' date being the month i surrendered my passport). I have traveled to India using OCI (which is obviously after the 'to' date)...

    Address history question

This could be an issue for me, as I can provide street addresses but i do not remember dorm room numbers and apartment numbers for the first few years after turning 18(this is close to 20 years ago!). And i have no records/proof of living at the addresses. Can anyone suggest what i can for the...

    Address history question

I was wondering how far back the addresses need to go? Is it since I was 18 and above, or only the past 10 years? Cheers

I got the email yesterday notifying me i have a new message in my account. So i looged in, saw the message and logged out. This morning I received another email notifying me that my application has been updated. Is that second email expected? Seemed kinda odd to me. Cheers

Intra Europe travels (can't recall last 10 years)

Cheers for the detailed reply. We were part of a tour group and we took a ferry from the UK to Belgium. However i dont see any entry stamp. I do see the exit stamp as you described. This was in 2008 and its all in an old(now cancelled) passport. I hope it wont be an issue with CIC.

Intra Europe travels (can't recall last 10 years)

I too would like some input on this issue. We did a tour of Europe for about 3 weeks (UK, netherlands, germany, austria, italy, france & switzerland). Landed in UK and left from France. Those are the only stamps in the passport. I dont remember the precice dates as we drove from one place to...

    Updating/changing EE profile

Thanks heaps Stanlee!!! An additional question. I cant remember if when creating the EE profile, it asks you to enter the number of years of experience, or if it calculates it itself using the durations in your work history? (ie is there an entry somewhere in the EE profile which asks for the...

What does transmit the change mean? I clicked the "save & exit" button. Is there something else, or some other button i need to click?
