Congratulations Mandy & everybody else who got their approvals today.... Called CIC again, spoke to different rep, said he couldn't see anything in my file, after further probing and putting me on hold repeatedly, he came back saying I should expect a letter in the mail (!) but he couldnt...

Did that, got the same answer as you, so it's pointless to insist. I concur with mercur's "theory": they probably don't look at applications in any specific order, which adds to the frustration. So waiting it is.

I don't know if this has any significance, but I noticed that the July applicants in this forum who have been approved so far are going through the London office. What gives? Maybe it's just my little brain doing funny things to me, but it's rather strange..... Coincidence? :-X

I agree. Sorry to say that getting a Client ID is by no means a guarantee that you gotten approval, but I have no reason to doubt that you'll get it :D It's just that the actual approval may not happen yet. Just keep your eyes open on your email, Mel. Or keep trying calling and getting a more...
