Can I start working in PGWP immediately after thesis accepted?

Hmmm....This is quite contradictory to what I heard previously. I saw from a link at CIC saying that: "Paragraph R186(w) allows students who have completed their program of study to work while they are waiting for a decision on their work permit application as long as they were a full-time...

Can I start working in PGWP immediately after thesis accepted?

I am a graduate student. Right now, I have a decent job offer which is supposed to start in mid-June. The criteria determining whether I can graduate or not, is whether my thesis defense gets a positive response from the review committee. The problem is that, my thesis defense might ends up to...

Can a fresh graduate work while waiting for PGWP (post-graduation work permit)?

Hi I expect myself to graduate in early May of 2015. And I have already received a good job offer that's going to start in the middle of June in 2015. My study permit is scheduled to expire in September 2015 (That means I graduate earlier than what's expected for my program). I am wondering if...

If I finish my degree earlier than required, can my spouse continue to work?

I'll confirm with CIC in the future when I have time to make the call, and update here accordingly. Although I wish what canuck_in_uk said is correct, I think for such an ambiguous situation, it's better to be mentally prepared for the worse case.

If I finish my degree earlier than required, can my spouse continue to work?

Sorry I just realized that there's no official news on this "replacement". I think I get this rumor from some forums and mistake it as a news. But anyway, EOI is going to be implemented in 2015 and that's for sure.

How hard is it to convert an open work permit into regular work permit

Thanks...For the advertisement requirement, how can an employer prove so when the foreigner is already working on that position? Re-post the position again on job hunting website and test whether there's a better Canadian candidate who can replace him? ::) Well I'm just wondering how they are...

If I finish my degree earlier than required, can my spouse continue to work?

Thanks! That makes me a little more relieved. Since my early graduation won't affect my husband's existing open work permit, I can keep my own pace.

How hard is it to convert an open work permit into regular work permit

Just want to know if anyone has experience (or know about) converting an Open Work Permit into a regular Work Permit. Is it hard? My husband is currently working on a skilled job of NOC A category. He's currently holding a open work permit for spouse of international students---that is, I am...

If I finish my degree earlier than required, can my spouse continue to work?

I am doing a Master degree at a public university and my husband has come over to Canada on "open work permit for spouse of international student". He has successfully secured a skilled job in NOC A and has started working now. Both of our visas (my study permit, his open work permit) has the...

More difficult to bring common-law partner to Canada than spouse?

Hi all, I am a girl going to Canada to study. I applied a study permit, together with my boyfriend's open work permit last time. Since two of us are living together for nearly two years (we rent a room in Singapore but unfortunately we kept moving places so couldn't keep a full, complete and...

Anyone submit the visa application in Singapore in the DropBox

Hi Flair, nice to know that someone else is doing the same type of application as me. Until today I haven't heard anything from the visa office since I dropped that envelope into the DropBox on this Wednesday. But after reading almost every page of the High Commission website in Singapore, I...

Anyone submit the visa application in Singapore in the DropBox

I took one half-day leave today to go to the High Commission of Canada today to submit my Study Permit Application. Since I enclose my husband's work permit application inside the same envelope, I was thinking of submitting it at the reception so that the officers could help me verify. But aft 1...
