    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

Anyone: What would be some recommended steps and/or links that I can read in order to research more thoroughly on this topic? Are there some official gun-law that I could read? This is really a pinch to my nerve and its hard for me to move forward without more factual information

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

By the way, the reason for my question is that I spoke to an CIC agent over the phone that told me it was illegal to mail PR cards outside Canada and the card would be destroyed if it was found... Also, this previous post imply similar issues...

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

Well, they did not include my friend as a c/o despite we asked them to which we believe were the reason our cards were not delivered, or delivered and returned to the sender. Thank you for the differentiation between mailing and residential address. So if I'm understanding you correctly mailing...

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

Interesting. Yeah Ive also waited 6 weeks. Did you get that PR card automatically sent out to the previous address your first card was to be sent out to?

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

Thank you. What would be the difference of informing cic over the phone and signing a Solemn declaration?

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

Thanks for your advice. I am not a U.S citizen, and I'd prefer a fully legal way of getting back into Canada (the crossing the Canada land border does sound like instructions we wouldn't ever get from cic?). My eTA have already been cancelled. I wonder, how could it then be possible for them...

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

I read this too, but it's not very informative. Sure, I can apply for a Travel Document to come back to Canada, but I would only be able to travel there for the time being. Which means I still wouldn't have my own "Canadian address" in the matter of time it takes for Canada to process a new card...

PR card lost in the mail, how to apply for a new one

Hello, I have a BIG concern. We are newly landed permanent residents and were told our PR cards were sent in the mail last month. Even after a period of 6 weeks, it never arrived. It is officially lost and immigration cannot trace it. We are now outside Canada and trying to understand the next...

    London VO COPR Timelines

I believe I sent photos by post only and the letter and copy of passport in the online account. Carefully follow your instructions and if in doubt, its better to send both by post and in your online account.

Hey guys , I have an urgent need to contact the processing centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia about a question concerning the delivery of my PR card. I need to call or email them, but can only get hold of their postal address information. Does anyone know their email and/or phone number? Thank...

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

I know I am on the paranoid side. But its partly because I will be moving without my family and friends, there'll be no one but me to look after me, so I better do my research- right? I certainly don't want a gun for protection! Thanks for the insight

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

Yes, I really don't get many American's perspective on wanting to be able to "defend themselves" and thus supporting gun culture. Wouldn't it be nice not needing to be in "defence" all the time. A rifle is still pretty scary though. But sure, I get the hunting animals in northern Canada game

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

Interesting. What about break-ins into people's homes?

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

But would you say that it is still slightly "common" to have a gun there as a way to "protect" yourself? In the U.S., Americans would relate to Canadians as people who would not even bother to lock their door. I wouldn't be able to sleep without both of my eyes closed ;)

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

Thank you for your response. Wouldn't you say that, based on the general distance that exist in countries like Canada and even the U.S., that the U.S. border (like Detroit and Buffalo) is fairly close? 4-5 hours in a car and you're there. Now it depends on what level of security measures that...

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

I also lived in the U.S., and I actually felt quite safe. The problem is you often don't "see" crime visibly on the street. I also feel very safe walking around the streets of Toronto, but that doesn't mean that I "am" as safe as I may feel. So what kind of crimes would you say are the most...

I appreciate the response. I definitely need to do more research on that one.

    Crime levels Toronto/Ontario/Canada vs. USA

Thank you for that report, I have heard about reports like this one where Toronto scores high on safety and quality of living but I have also seen other reports from e.g. the economist where Toronto are not ranked at all in terms of "most safe cities" obviously the criteria for every one of...

    London VO COPR Timelines

The way I pushed them to hurry was to let them know that I had scheduled my trip to perform the PR landing and providing them with the exact date for my flight. I told them I had booked my tickets, accommodation and time off in order to complete the landing. I didn't mention more than that, but...
