They don't provide any details on DM. How much did you travel to the US during the four years? Did you use your L status for all those travels?

    MAY 2017 Citizenship Applicants

That may be the reason for suspicion. How long after your test did they change to DM? If it is within a few days then they might have just reviewed it further and made a decision. It should be positive.

Yes they don't like to listen if they feel they need to do a check with the US authorities. Did you have the L visa that was valid, while you were in Canada?

They should already have pulled out the CBSA report. I don't know why they are not convinced that you don't have the days that you needed here. The CBSA report should give your number of days that you spent in Canada. But I know in cases where they see if one had work visas in the US, they send...

Did you have your H1B status valid after you became a PR? Did you have a H1B status in the last four years?

    Police clearance certificate

Thank you anyways. I agree that most the report GCMS is a waste because to decipher anything is tough may be only immigration lawyers understand. But one thing I noticed, the officers don't review much before the test/ interview actually happens. Then they realize certain things are required...

    Police clearance certificate

Thanks dpenabill. That makes sense - so my total absence from Canada in the last 4 years combined is 46 days. But in 2012 (when I got the PR) I was out for most of the year because of a job situation. But they shouldn't count that as that year is 5 years out from the time I sent out the...

Looks like you were absent around 183 days in one country of the 4 years preceding your application. Then the officer got confused around the whole thing and issued you the notice. I don't know how they calculate though - shouldn't they go with the physical presence calculator?

It shouldn't matter when Iceberg7 got the permanent residence status. Please see quote below from CIC website: "You are required to provide a police certificate for each country, other than Canada, where you were present for a total of 183 days or more during the four (4) years immediately...

MARCH Applicant for citizenship March , 2017

That's really ridiculous! My question was the same as well. I didn't provide any PCC because I didn't spend more than 183 days outside Canada in the last four years preceding the application. But now I feel there is a chance because one year before the last four years I have more than 183 days...

    Police clearance certificate

I lived in Canada since 2013 with minor travels for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. I applied in March 2017. So according to their rule a PCC is not required in my case. PCC is only required if someone is absent for more than 183 days in one of the four years preceding the citizenship application...

Thanks Stabinmo - my passport has no stamps as I have only traveled to US during this period. Hopefully they should have acquired the CBSA report by now!

What documents do they check? I know they check the test invite, 2 pieces of ID, PR Card, COPR, Passport - anything else such as job letters, paystubs or anything like that?
