AFAIK, you cannot cross land border on B1/B2. You can take a flight though. You can call Border officials for more information. They are pretty friendly.

Ideal scenario would be for my spouse to go alone and start working and then hopefully, next year I can apply for H4 and join him. But, as a recommendation, if I want to accompany him on B1/B2, is it better to go together or should I enter later by myself after my spouse starts working on H1B ?
