I applied in July 2014 . Sent the courier through FEDEX ( sent on July 02. Reached NS on July 09). I took the draft from ICICI, payabe at Canada .

I have also applied for PR through CEC from India only. I have given a bank draft instead of using Credit card , since it can get declined or Referred ( for which the issuing bank customer service would call you to confirm the transaction before authorizing it) for high value / foreign transactions.

Maybe you can get a reference letter from your Manager. I think that could be accepted.
