    what happens if you apply in advance of meeting residence requirements?

    Here's the real answer: A friend of mine had the same wonderful idea knowing in advance he did not meet basic residency requirement. Application got returned to him with an explanation and the date he would meet it. Cheers!

    Forgot to mention I live in Scarborough, Ontario and landed inland at the Scarborough office which is the busiest in the country. Spousal-sponsorship, 1.5 years long that thing was... But lucky indeed to have only been that long compared to some other cases. Best of luck, Peter.
