finally got IP on April 20

it seems sask is pretty slow i am waiting for the IP since march 1, the day when i got the AOR (received application on jan 12).

i have a question regarding process time for citizenship. According to the IRCC website, the process time for citizenship application is 12 months. my spouse recently applied for citizenship and not sure how long it is gonna take. my personal experience is that saskatchewan office is bit slow...

After looking at january spreadsheet, everybody except me whose application was received on Jan 11 has received the AOR. Not sure what is reason?

mine is still in process since Jan 23, 2018. i applied for both surrender and oci together on jan 16 and have received surrender certificate.

i received the acknowledge for the declaration of renunciation of citizenship of india on last friday. it is just a print out out and stamped. The consulate printed out on a wrinkled paper, and folded it and kept in the passport. Anyway, i got it in 16 days.

How long does it take to return the application due to various reasons, such as language proof?

i applied for renunciation and oci together on 15th of this month. i have not heard back anything from bls or consulate.

if you don't use the passport for travel. you can keep the passport up to 3 years without penalty. But if you do, then a penalty should be paid during the renunciation.

Thanks sajc. To avoid penalty, one must renunciate the indian citizenship within three years of getting canadian citizenship. For me, it is going to be 3 years in march. so i am hoping to get the surrender certificate prior to that.

i am planning to travel to my home country for a month sometimes in may. would this affect on my citizenship application?

i will be sending my application on 15 jan for both surrender and oci together. i was told by the agent it will take one month for surrender certificate to arrive and 2 months for oci.
