Info about my case: Passed test in Montreal on Nov 3, until the present moment no DM appeared in the system. ATIP from September shows the oath deadline is Dec, 2015. Recently ordered a new one, so will see the changes soon. On the interview, as many others, was told about 2-4 months for the oath.

Do you have your tentative exam schedule? If yes, just call CIC and let them know about period (specific days) you can't appear on the oath ceremony. In case your oath will be scheduled on the exam date, report the schedule conflict at your university, so they could reschedule your exam, there...

Since you inform them earlier, did they give any feedback? In any case, it's pretty obvious that DM appeared because of provided docs, otherwise you would have got some response about not completed requirement somewhere in the middle of October.

I would recommend to get ATIP notes and check the oath deadline. In my case it's December 2015. If it's overdue, write a letter to MP which represents your location area, and ask him/her to help with resolving this issue, otherwise - wait until deadline.

1) oath 2-4 months (approximately, February 2016), RQ - up to 1-2 months from the date of test 2) you can call CIC and notify them about your travel, so there won't be any surprise for you at the travel time. IMHO, the chance you'll be invited this month, isn't realistic. 3) if urgent pick-up...

3.+ Read the book at least once

Frend of mine was asked on the citizenship test, which was held a few weeks ago, about the reason why he applied for a PR card . He also was informed that this obstacle slowed down the procces because of 2 applications at the same time.
