You don't need to be worried at all because they haven't started your application yet.

I am pretty sure you are in same boat as mine. the reason you didn't see any update in last few months because your in a queue haven't started your application yet. Call IRCC let the agent take an action and send a note to your office. they will respond it in 30 days.

Now makes sense why your file took so long. It is normal because you added your spouse later. But i don’t understand why mine took so long without an update. My MP told me there is no issue on your file That she can see and she said she is going to find out why file transferred to Etobicoke...
