To be honest, I am more than happy if my local office is not St. Clair. I simply just don't like this office as I have seen so many cases processed by this office take months even years to finalize.

Only a few, my observation is about 1/7-1/8. You can have your fingerprints taken at any licensed agencies. You can find the list from CIC website, just google "CIC Fingerprints". http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/fingerprint.asp

For my case, CIC confirms the receive in a week. The delay may vary from 3 weeks to 3 months according to the updates provided by folks in this forum. I received my FP before the test invitation.

I think it won't hurt to order ATIP any time during the process to understand what did CIC do so far. However, as long as the timeline still within 12 months, it won't speed it up.

Have you taken your test yet? It will be sent direct to RCMP after the agency takes your fingerprints digitally, you don;t have to worry. Just call CIC 1-2 weeks after FP taken to confirm they receive it. Do you mind if I asking your local office?
