Well I was with her but landing at Pearson and the entire process probably took about 45 minutes or so. Stood in line at the customs desk, then they sent us to a room where the immigration officer processed the COPR and marked additional information i.e. landing date, etc. We got our luggage...

Hi, i guess your case is slightly different than ours and I'm not sure how you should handle it... But, my wife was in Armenia at time and she dropped off that passport at the Canada Visa Office in Yerevan. They sent it to Moscow (yes the passport still goes there) and then about a week later...

I was told it was from the day you sent the application or was received (in Canada). That's a good question for the CIC office. I'm sure the 8 /9 or other is not from the Warsaw office. Then again I could be wrong.

I just checked the e-mail that my wife received pertaining to the same request from the visa office. At the bottom of our e-mail there is instructions on "how to submit". However, mine was divided into two steps...send the photocopy of the passports in an e-mail format... and then a week later...

That's what I was told by a few experts in the immigration field... Because as the months were going by I was getting worried, and I was wondering at what point can I do a status check with the VO. I was told at the time of the application whatever the number of months it was indicated, that's...

It's done every few months. When I applied in March, it was 8, then it changed to 12 a few months later, and then in August it changed to 13 months. From my understanding your particular process will reflect when you applied, so if it changes it doesn't really change the scenario for you (i.e...

This part of process is extremely inconsistent. I never got my status changed until they contacted for my wife's copies of passport. When my wife sent the passport copies, all of a sudden the eCAS status changed to 'in process'. A week later they asked the passport for visa issuance. The eCAS...

So in Canada there are two way of changing your last name: 1) Assume a last name (change, hyphenate etc.) 2) Legally change your name (will reflect a change on your birth certificate). To legally change your name you have to be in Canada for at least 12 months. I just called Service Canada...

Oh you can't imagine what a relief it is.... The job is not done yet. Tons of papers to be completed once she arrives to Canada, but at least this unknown part is over. It's official. We received the VISA + COPR yesterday!!! There was a little bit scare with one item in the COPR related to Place of Birth, as there was a missing letter at the end of the town my wife was born in. I quickly e-mailed them yesterday morning and they replied back immediately, saying...

Hi Userpg....maybe I can help as I'm going through that exact process. Warsaw asked my wife to send passport pages on September 25, and on October 01, they replied back asking for Passport to be sent for Visa issuance. Since my Wife is Armenian, we are now dealing with Moscow Visa Office but...
