CIC requested new passport and RCMP on May 17, submitted on the same day May 17 (I sent via CSE) .RCMP Ottawa told they sent it on may 18 to CPC-M. Called twice CIC and still file is not updated. What is happening actually? How long it takes for them to update a file? I am April 4 applicant,2016.

anyone have idea from which or what kind of telephone number CIC call you from?

log in to your my cic account, if it says you passed the exam then it is OK.if they need something they will send you a request.

yes CIC mentioned 30 days but it was completed less than a week. According to RCMP Ottawa they received it for sure. Now I get the point why there is a backlog, these people request a doc from you and never look back to your file whether requested documents arrived or not.

Hi Sidhubi, same status here, received Sponsor DM followed by RCMP. I have submitted RCMP on May 17 and checked with RCMP Ottawa and they already dispatched my RCMP to CIC on May 18. Till then no response from CIC.

I believe they are going to finalize all 2016 applicants before end of 2017, this is the only reason they extend it for 6 months. don't worry too much.

congrats Risabh. one query, did they ask you for RCMP fingerprint based police clearance? I am trying to figure out it's only me or they asked a lot of people.
