passport mailed to a second address

My wife and I live in Canada, and have submitted an outland application for her PR. My wife would like to return to Japan to visit with an ailing relative. If we receive the request from the visa office for her passport while she is still in-country in Japan, she will submit the passport from...

Congratulations! Your excitement is palpable. 8^) Congrats on your news, too, dyj2010. I have to say I'm not sure where to file your news, though? You indicated that on June 4th you'd already had word from the visa office? Or did I have that wrong in the spreadsheet? It does seem that we're...

80 days since April 1. Lots of waiting, all 'round. To put it in context, on April 1: + The great Tohoku earthquake wasn't even three weeks old + Western involvement in Libya was ten days old + Serbia's Ratko Mladic was still on the loose + The Presidents of Ivory Coast and Yemen were still in...

Hmm. It would be interesting to hear from some of the site's pros about that. I suspect that finances are a significant part of the review these days.

Did you send it to Vegreville or Mississauga? If Mississauga, I think you should have heard something by now.

That's incorrect. It depends very much on the country. In Japan there is no tax number and no such thing as a credit check. In Canada they only need your home address and your name. I learned this recently when a car rental shop sold my drivers license details and someone used my details to...

Good to hear back from you. Mississauga to Buffalo in 13 days .. it must have walked. That said, you're a couple of days quicker than the average.

Very good point. I tend to forget that most outlanders aren't as lucky as I am. Waiting for more than nine months without any update? 8^(

Our friends who are going through the inland application route are still on their spousal approval—the CIC is only up to applications dating to August 2010 for that .. then those applicants have another nine months at a minimum for the second phase of approving the sponsored person. We're all in...

Not many of us have received any kind of letter at all, just emails. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Sunshineee, you received your notification from the VO in Singapore much more quickly than trungnan did, you seem to be in good shape.

That was fast! The second shortest wait in the spreadsheet from submission to getting to the VO.

London's rated as one of the fastest VO's in the world, so your turn should come sooner than later. Meanwhile, I've updated your record in the spreadsheet. 8)

Not everyone has the same experience. It doesn't even seem to be close, from what I can tell. I suggest that you wait. You're not due to hear from your VO for another two weeks or more (June 24 by my guess). Just going by the timelines I'm seeing from the others dealing with the VO in New Delhi.
