Hello all, I just called Call Centre (Canada) to ask about the difficulty regarding ecas. The was very helpful and provided me the same info which was on ecas before it went down. When I asked about ecas, she was unable to tell anything. She forwarded me the following email though...

If you are a "wife", you can carry upto a kilo of gold and declare it. U can carry less and mention that u have more back home so they will mark it on ur file and u can carry remaining during ur next visit
