Letters from friends and family (Common-Law)

OK, thanks for the clear answer mate! Can these be copies because it doesn't seem to state that they need to be originals??? Also family and friends we're going to use regardless but would it be better to use someone impartial for one of the notarized declarations? If we use our Landlord and...

Letters from friends and family (Common-Law)

Hey guys, just a quick one. For the supporting evidence, I'm asking both me and my partner's parents and friends etc to write solemn declarations to prove we are in a rel co-habiting relationship. Questions are: 1) Do these need to be signed by a notary? 2) We're planning to send the...

What would you do? Common-law sponsorship questions.

One more quick question. I've searched around and I'm 90% sure but I have also found conflicting evidence too. Does EI or WCB affect my sponsor's chances of being eligible for sponsorship? Thanks

What would you do? Common-law sponsorship questions.

Wow, that's really reassuring! I'm intrigued at what you said about applications being processed entirely in Canada, how can this happen? What is the actual reason that the case is sent to London in the first place? Also, I'm planning on overloading my application with as much supporting...

What would you do? Common-law sponsorship questions.

Yes, I'm aware of this. I'm looking ahead to May this year as the time to send the application off vs sending it off in July when we're back from our vacation. What would you do given your knowledge and experience? Thanks

What would you do? Common-law sponsorship questions.

Hey all, I've been researching my options for my PR application through the Common Law sponsorship category but there are a few things I'd like your expert opinions on before I start compiling forms and evidence. Here is my situation first of all: I'm from the UK and currently on my second...

    Travel insurance or Canadian healthcare?

Hi everyone. I'm moving to Vancouver in a couple of months and i'm wondering how to go about sorting my healthcare. I can either pay upfront for 12 months insurance which seems simple, or i've been told that i might qualify for the Medicare system for about 60 CAD a month. The only other thing...

Prescriptions for working holiday visa people

Excellent, that sounds pretty reasonable to be honest. I take it there would be a standard nominal fee for all prescriptions, like here in the UK it's about £7.50 per item per month usually. It sounds like I should be ok i think.

Prescriptions for working holiday visa people

Yeah I saw the info about a 90-day supply. That should give me enough time to get settled and suss out a doctor. Does anyone know if I can visit a doctor if I have standard 1 year travel insurance though?

Prescriptions for working holiday visa people

Hi guys. I'm going to be working/living in Vancouver on the working holiday scheme from this october onwards and i have a quick question. Here in the UK i'm on oxytetracylene, 250mg pills and i take 4 a day. They basically keep my skin clear and prevent acne and work really well. Now i want to...

    Canadian cell phone contracts

Hi guys. I'm heading out to Vancouver for 1-2 years on the working holiday scheme in approximately 2 months time. I'm looking for an affordable phone contract for 1 year and then i'll extend it if i do end up staying for the second year. Is this possible at all? If not then i'll probably buy a...

When can you qualify for permanent residence/citizenship?

Hi guys. I'm going to be moving to Vancouver this October for 1-2 years on the working holiday scheme and I have a few questions. I'm thinking very long-term here but if I did want to stay in Canada for longer, maybe much longer, what criteria would i need to fulfil? I expect to need...
