    Why not Vancouver ??

Also you don't HAVE to live IN the city center of Vancouver. The closer to Vancouver you get the higher the prices, but someone can easily live comfortably in the surroundings areas or even in-land BC. I hate the stigma BC has over it for being unlivable due to it's costs. Toronto is NO...

Exporting a Vehicle from the U.S. and Importing into Canada: Complete Step-by-Step Guide

Another silly question. How far out can you file for an ITN Number? Can it be more than 72 hours? (In this case if I applied today but I'm not importing the car till September 22nd, would that be fine as long as I send the ITN to Customs 72 hours before I plan to export?

Moving to Vancouver or Stay in Montreal (need your help please)

I was gonna actually suggest Alberta. It's an option for us too! Southern Alberta would be ideal! It's a great middle ground IMO.

Okay, again like I said, I was more so responding to the other people saying that BC in general is not doable. I get what you're saying. Of course the two are completely different. OP has options, I'm also laying out that if OP is okay with a longer drive, you can absolutely afford Vancouver's...

SIN number - Changing from Temporary to Permanent

Just stumbled across this thread and Im a bit confused. So for outland, how and when does the PR get their SIN and is that still considered temporary and once the PR gets their PR card do they need to change it to a permanent one? Just asking as we're landing back in Canada next month and wanna...

I was just pointing out that a lot of people automatically rule out BC altogether because they see the prices in one city and forget the others *shrug*

RIV "Inspection" (Canadian Tire / Ontario)

Is that why you had to get emissions? Cause my understanding is that's only for cars 10 years or older? Also safety is not included with the RIV?

Ah okay I was gonna say. Kamloops you can find homes in the 350k range but that's the interior and for some reason people tend to forget that's an option lol.

Best place to get my US money converted to CAD?

Curious what past Americans used to get their money converted from USD to CAD. The bank wants to knock off about $80 for every $1000 and just curious if we can do better? I would prefer to have it all switched over before the move, but can wait till after we're in Canada if anyone thinks I'd...

350k homes in Vancouver? Are you sure they're actually homes? All I've ever seen are condos or Mobile Homes for that price.

Vancouver doesn't have to be expensive if you're willing to move outside the city center. Look even at Abbotsford and Langley. The more into the interior you are, the cheaper it gets. Houses are still more pricey than not (Unless you're willing to buy a mobile home), but there are diamonds in...

    ITN Broker Suggestions? (Fedex?)

Hey guys! I'm getting ready to land back in Canada and we're looking for brokers that you went with that worked out great! I hear Fedex does this? Is this true? (And only for $10?) Anyways, list your suggestions and prices! I keep hearing mixed reviews about Simplified Solutions :S

Exporting a Vehicle from the U.S. and Importing into Canada: Complete Step-by-Step Guide

Question Can we apply for the ITN number prior to the car being paid off? It's going to be paid off next week. Also does anyone know if either boarding crossing in Detroit (Bridge or Tunnel) accepts Car importing? Also will it cause issues if the car is in both our names? (I'm a Canadian...

FIDO hit my score by 60 points ! why ?! *New Customer*

If I'm reading this correct, then if FIDO says they didn't charge a late fee or claims your account was not overdue, then they need to fight on your behalf and get that off your credit. That will be their responsibility to contact TransUnion and get it removed. Honestly 60 points isn't...

    Driving History and Insurance

I'll be moving back to Ontario in September. I was curious if I should obtain not only my US Driving history, but my Canadian one as well? Do you think this will help with insurance rates as I show a longer history than 1000+ days in the US? (I have a history from when I was 17 in Canada)...

Canadian life after moving from UAE/Middle East

You will get paid less in Canada, sadly, in retrospect. As for flights, if you're moving close to the US border, it's going to cost you much less to fly out from the US than Canada. But always research flights. Skiplagged is a great site for cheap flights! Sometimes it ends up being cheaper in...
