I agree with you. Lets hope for the best. The immigration minister is publicly inviting international student to Canada, lets just hope that invitation is true by issuing SP and allowing student to really come and study in Canada.

Are you applying from UAE? VFS is open in UAE and the Canadian Embassy aswell. I called VFS awhile ago. Apparently their also collecting some passport recently which means embassy is issuing final decision. But most probably those are for permant resident which will be prioritize over...

I personally dont think its a good idea to defer specially if you already have valid permit. Alot of student defer already to 2021 so i dont think all Univ/colleges can accommodate all those who defer.
