Got COPR after March 18 and currently residing in the US - can I enter Canada?

Were you guys able to get any answers from them? What are you planning to do?

CoPRs with approval after March 18 and soon to expire counterfoils entering Canada

Thank you! Sounds totally reasonable. Better to wait for the executive order, which IMHO should not affect the existing visa holders. But still, better be safe than sorry. You should NOT be mandated to quarantine if you return to the US the same day? Unless you have reasons to stay in Canada...

CoPRs with approval after March 18 and soon to expire counterfoils entering Canada

Are you in WNY? Keep us posted iff you plan to do a landing regardless (considering you're a pretty close and a drive would be harmless to evaluate the situation). Your experience will help us a lot.

CoPRs with approval after March 18 and soon to expire counterfoils entering Canada

Thanks for notifying. This is kinda stupid on IRCCs end to have not set clear guidelines and to still give away visas only to expire. Anyhow, how do we extend our PRV? Where to apply?

CoPRs with approval after March 18 and soon to expire counterfoils entering Canada

That's what the confusion is: - why stamp counterfoils after March 18 if you don't want to let us in - they want us to use the counterfoil before it expires, then how its not essential? =)

Thanks for notifying that. - It's pretty weird if they are giving us soon to expire counterfoils and then not letting us enter. - Have the same opinion about PPR date and CoPR date. - Guess this is pretty unclear then and we stay in a limbo. In such a case, maybe we hear soon a revision to the...

CoPRs with approval after March 18 and soon to expire counterfoils entering Canada

Hello, For all the folks who have approved CoPRs after March 18th (date of issue on counterfoil) and their counterfoils are going to expire in the near future and are trying to enter Canada directly from the US. What's the next thing your minds and how are you going about it. thanks

Can understand your pain. If we see it like this - they gave us an immigrant stamp which expires soon and they need us to use it before it expires. This in all means that its for essential purpose. But yes, final word would be from CBSA and I'd recommend writing or calling them.

Apparently ones coming directly from the US are exempted from travel restrictions. Read here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html

Guess they are prioritizing based on the medical exam dates. My passport got delivered on May 22 and i received it back yesterday June 10. Maybe you still have time to enter Canada based on your medical exam? Taking a guess here, might be wrong.

So i was reading here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html and under the section 'all other foreign nationals' it says if you are traveling directly from the US AND not traveling for discretionary purpose...

Kinda makes sense now. This expiry must be relating to the medical exam date. For me, the expiry is Sept 2020. Was wondering how is this gonna work when borders are closed? Any ideas?

No visa stamp? Why is that expected if you don't mind me asking. From your past posts it looks like you were approved already.

I guess people still are. If this were true, there should have been something on the IRCC website. Instead, it simply says - complete the next process whenever you're able to do so.

Thanks for the detailed information. If I am not wrong you are in the US and obligated to do a soft landing before 5th of September? Considering the borders are closed, did they give any pointers around how that's gonna happen?
