I think even some people who got beginner for speaking got B1 for writing. Practice questions like English is a menace to language diversity or It's useless to learn any other language except English and variations like that that talks about English taking over French and you will be fine.

The same, I got 8's in writing and speaking. Took IELTS after, got 7's, which is good for CLB 9.

I got C1 in Listening and Reading today after 2 years (lots of pauses in between). I'd have to retake it as Speaking and Writing were not good.

Is it possible that they multiply by some amount? Maximum is 300 for Reading for example, 50 questions. Grading on the manual says each question is +1 for correct, 0 for anything else including the wrong answer. So, on average each correct answer is multiplied by 6. But I think they multiply...

I did in Canada, so different from India and other countries. Long reading one was about wave energy. Listening had some festival and research project on sea animals. I don't remember the answers anymore, sorry.

I got my IELTS results: 8.5 for Listening and Reading, 7 for Writing and Speaking. Listening and Reading are harder on IELTS for sure with True, False and all that BS. This is a General Module; who gets true, false questions in their work place?! Both tests I got CLB 10+. Writing is the same...

This is why I hate IELTS, so inconsistent in writing and speaking.

Less common words is just one of the criteria. What about the other questions? As I said, if you have time and money, why not?

I don't think there is good correlation between speaking and listening. I got 8.5 in L and 6.5 in S, applied for re-evaluation, no luck. Although it was a different test, but very similar. I think better indicator is writing. He has 7.5, which is very good but not stellar. So I would say 50/50...
