The cic website says within 6 months from the date the application is rcvd at New Delhi but varies from case to case..

Congratulations.. welcome to the wait game :) Every visa office has its own policy regarding the AOR.. The New Delhi office does nt send AOR.. I am not sure whether Buffalo sends one..

I think for a DL, one only needs a passport with a Canadian visa in it.. I gt my American license exchanged for a G2 here without any issues using an Indian passport and a tourist visa for Canada..

Yes, u can.. I ve done this.. But u mite ve to go back to ur country once the passport is requested..this is the case with new Delhi office..

I guess u shd call the visa office and state why u cant send the passport in the requested time frame and c wat they say ..

The ppr letter states that they will not mail the passport to any country except India,Nepal and Bhutan..apart from this, the immigration consultant also said I will have to go back for passport submission..if you don't want to do that, you can apply inland, the downside being longer processing...

I am in exactly the same position as urs i.e. I m in canada on tourist visa and have applied for PR under spousal category in new Delhi..as far as I knw, u can't send the passport by courier internationally..u ve to be in India for submitting the passport.. If u get to learn of any alternate...
