Hi, I guess I selected 'Work Permit' instead of 'Work Permit extension (new employer)'. Which one is actually right?

I just called CIC and they said for BWOP, they are currently processing the applications submitted at March 2nd. Mine is 12 May and they said I may still need to wait couple of months. Is it true?????? Anyone know?? Couple of months really? The processing time shows only 7 weeks.
