Check your processing times and try to raise notes ... they call it GCMS... it takes about a month to receive them. This is not normal though.

Wow what a relief ... so what i understood from all this is... employer specific is 2 years and open work permit is granted for a year. My work permit is expiring on Aug 7 2017 so i should start applying now ?? 2 months is almost what i have ... do not want to go in implied status and stuff.

But i guess it works different for inland and outland... inland is 13 months max... no idea about the outland applicant's processing time.

You are an outland applicant i guess.... i would apply under Express entry, it is the fastest and easiest way. Calculate your points and apply. What they do is pick a draw twice a month and if your points are more or the cut off they will send you an invitation to apply.
