The Police +10 office is the official authorized office where an Iranian applies for passport, driving licence, background check, etc. there is always at least one in any urban district. My wife's passport renewal took about a week in Sept. 2012. So it is usually very fast and easy if nothing...

Kazhal jan, tell your husband to go to a +10 police office, and ask them if it is possible to have a fast-issued passport. They are capable of renewing a passport in less than 10 days but the applicant should insist and ask if he is allowed to get the passport in person. On the other hand, now...

There should be a better word, much stronger, than "congratulation" for what I wanna tell you now. Soooooo happy for you.

Sepide jan, it was the first time I was hearing of its possibility. Then I checked some 3rd party websites like the forum you've mentioned and saw the same thing you've said. However, I could not find anything official. Most foreign ppl who used their old passports with valid visas reported...

Sepide jan, if i remember correctly, your old passport will get punched after getting a new one. Afterwards, you are not capable of using the old one even if you have a valid visa inside.

When I, myself, supposed to send my passport to Damascus in 2010, they had asked me for a passport to be valid for at least 6 months. Now, I just rewrote what they said in my spouse's PPR email. BTW, it does not sound reasonable to depart Iran with a nearly-expired passport while there is always...

In the PPR email, it has been stated that " passports must be valid beyond your planned date of arrival in Canada". So, it seems that there will be no problem if the passport has a validity of 2-3 months at the time when the visa is gonna be issued.

It may cause more than a simple delay. Whenever your visa is announced to be ready to issue, you have 30 days to send a valid passport to the embassy. It may take more than 1 month for anyone in Iran to have their new passport issued, posted, and received. You may simply lose your visa according...

No doubt that it's unfair. I, myself, sometimes get angry about it. It's crazy that during last week I felt some kind of guilt and shame along with the joy I was feeling after hearing the good news of my wife's PPR. Meanwhile, there is nothing to do but waiting with hope and good will.

Kazhal jan, what was not added up in your case? Are you and your hubby from different nationalities? Was there any technical problem with your legal process or legal registration of your marriage? If I got it correctly, you've applied in late 2010 and your file was transferred to Damascus in...

I think it's absolutely positive. It shows that there is no complicated issue in your file, and security check duration depend heavily on chance. Furthermore, I saw your timeline once again. You maybe considered for PPR in 10-40 days due to your in-process date.

I am not sure, but doesn't this in/outside Canada refer to the applicant? If I am right, when your wife lives outside Canada, you should apply for an outside permanent residence... However, your file is now in Ankara and obviously there was no primary problem.

Your MP is John Weston and you can find the contact information here: http://www.johnweston.ca/ You can email him but don't tell him that you are overseas. He will provide you a registration form and your spouse will sign that form. then somebody, almost your age, not your father, could go to...
