This question is for all those who have their parents in Canada now. Are you guys paying the Bio-metric fees? The guide says Biometric is exempted for applicants who are physically in Canada. However some are of the opinion that the fees should be paid or else the application will be rejected...

If you are from India you can request certificate of DOB from Consulate General of India, they charge $45. They will ask you for your passport and if your parents name is on passport they will issue you the certificate with your parents names on it.

The to date is the date stamped on her passport for exit. Ideally 2 years from entry.

Would you pay her Bio Metric fees?

Guide 5772 - Application to Sponsor Parents and Grandparents

This is what the guide says "If you are applying as a member of the family class and are legally in Canada when you apply, you are currently exempt from giving biometrics." So which means they are exempt.

This question is for applicants whose parents are in Canada now during application. Since they are exempt from Bio metrics for now, do we still pay bio metric fees? Or can we apply without Bio Metric fees?

Have the same question for sponsors birth certificate.

I am sure this would have been addressed before. Would appreciate if someone replies this. In the checklist it asks for proof of relationship as sponsors birth certificate. If we do not have birth certificate , can we submit passport instead which mentions the name of parents? Kindly reply. Thanks
