Passport is valid till 2017 and my visa is till 2015 (2 years) Dubai to AD by car is 1 hour to 1.5 hours, if by bus then double the time. The terminal is a 5-10 minute taxi drive to the embassy.

I went to the embassy at 9.30 and gave my passport, went back and picked it up at 2.30 with the visa stamped. There was only one other couple there, it was very quiet. Hopefully it's a low season and visas will be processed faster!
