Yes it's undoubtedly fine to pay only first semester's fee which includes your registration fee as well. For visa there's no rule that one has to pay one year tuition fee, only one semester is enough, for the rest of the semesters your proof of finance is the key.

It's always recommended to select courses that goes with your educational background. It does matter for visa purposes. If you still want to switch you can but your SOP has to be strong enough explaining why you are switching.

I am applying via online. Since I will be uploading original scanned documents of everything, Do I need to notarize them? I will also scan my passport along with the stamp papers as well. Does that need to be notarized as well?

Can you clear something for me? Like, all the college programs are enlisted as diploma. There is no separate section for pg diploma. So, are all those diploma courses considered as pg diploma as well?
