I was told by travel agent that I need a transit visa if I have to stay more than 4 hours on Heathrow airport of London and if my connecting flight departs from any US airport. He told me that it takes around 10 days to get transit visa and would cost me around total of 10k. Please enlighten...

Well then wait and watch buddy. If you dont get any approval mail, it doent mean that it is the end of hopes. Many visa successors faced the same scenerio. So keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best. BTW I got approval mail before the passport was dispatched. But many dont get...

Yeah. I got two mails simultaneously, one from VFS and the other from CHC.

Don't worry. Same thing occurred with me. I was also in confusion about that mail. I called to VFS to confirm about my passport status and I was told by VFS representative that the later mail that I have received is due to technical problem. So just chill........:)

I applied on 1st october 2012 and they gave me approval in mid february 2013.

Your passport is on the way towards you. All you have to do is wait and watch for the same. Generally, CHC sends the approval mail along with the release of passport. But, If you haven't got any mail, it doesn't mean that it is end of your hope. Pray to GOD for GOOD. All the best.
